Wind and snow drive the work here

Fences take the worst of it. Castle Rock and the ridges around it get wind that removes panels outright, and we do a steady amount of post resetting, panel replacement and gate rebuilding as a result. Building it back stronger than it was is usually cheaper than doing it again in two years.

Snow is the other constant. Castle Rock picks up more of it than Aurora does, and storms arrive earlier. Seasonal contracts here are worth locking in before October rather than calling around during the first real storm.

Sloped lots need real hardscape

A lot of Castle Rock properties have grade to manage. Retaining walls, drainage and paver walkways are regular work for us — and they have to be built correctly, with a compacted base, drain pipe and proper backfill. A wall built without drainage will lean out within a few freeze-thaw cycles. Ours don't.
